Our Tutors

Our tutors are highly experienced, and are current medical students at both the University of Otago and The University of Auckland. They have each achieved an A+ in their respective subjects, each with 95%+ and/or top of the class in their subject.

  • Zi-Yi

    Zi-yi completed Health Sciences First Year with A*s in all her papers. Since entering Medicine, she has been tutoring HUBS191 and HUBS192, and has also lab demonstrated those papers under the University of Otago.


    She is actively involved in the Malaysian Medics International society as well as with the Unicrew Volunteers. She was also awarded a Distinction in the International Certificate of Education (ICE), by the University of Cambridge in high school.

  • Kyle

    Kyle is currently in his fourth year of study towards an MBChB at the University of Otago and is pursuing a career in medical practice and research.


    He gained entry into medicine via the First Year Health Science pathway, and is a recipient of a “University of Otago Leaders of Tomorrow” scholarship. He has also received a “University of Otago Prestige Scholarship in Medicine.”

  • Zane

    Zane is a third year student at the University of Otago currently completing a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.  He is a receiver of the University of Otago Academic Excellence scholarship, to the value of $45,000.


    During his first year,  Zane achieved a 96% average grade across all seven Health Science First Year papers, ending the year with a 9.0 GPA. He passed second year medicine with distinction. In his UCAT he was ranked in the top 10% of all students who participated.

  • Ekta

    Ekta is a fourth year medical student at the University of Auckland. She achieved an 8.5 core GPA and 92nd percentile UMAT score in her First Year Health Science. She is also the recipient of the Auckland Top Achiever Scholarship valued at $20,000 and the Otago Academic Excellence Scholarship valued at $40,000.

    Ekta was a prefect and Proxime Accessit at New Plymouth Girls' High School. She was also selected to represent NZ at the NASA Space School in Texas, where students from around the world come together to design a mock mission to Mars. Ekta completed NZQA Level 3 endorsed with excellence as a Year 12, achieved a 99.9 ATAR,  and has an English and Statistics Scholarship.

  • Yash

    Yash is studying a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Auckland after achieving an A+ grade for all his pre-med courses. He was a Lead Student and key tutor at Botany Downs Secondary College. He helmed one-on-one tutoring initiatives and was heavily involved in Maths and Science mentoring. 

    During his final year he was a recipient of an NZQA Premier Scholarship Award, earning Outstanding Scholarships in Biology, Calculus, Chemistry and Statistics, and Scholarship in Physics. This was complemented with a Scholarship in Calculus and Physics in Year 12, and a Scholarship in Calculus in Year 11.

  • Taylor

    Taylor is a third-year Medical student with an extensive tutoring experience in a wide variety of subjects, both on an individual and group basis. This includes working with UK medical students to enhance effective communication skills.

    In his BHSc first year Taylor gained a ‘Top in Class Award’ and a perfect GPA (9.0) across his core papers, with an overall GPA of 8.75 and excellent UCAT scores. His goal is to help students achieve high results and realise their maximum academic potential. His second year of MBChB saw him achieve a perfect GPA with high marks across all subjects and clinical skills domains.
