Ekta

Ekta is a fourth year medical student at the University of Auckland. She was prefect and Proxime Accessit at New Plymouth Girls' High School, and was selected to represent NZ at NASA Space School in Texas, where students from around the world come together to design a mock mission to Mars. 

Ekta completed NZQA Level 3 endorsed with excellence as a Year 12, achieved a 99.9 ATAR,  and has an English and Statistics Scholarship. She then went on to get a 8.5 core GPA and 92nd percentile UMAT score in first year Health Science. She is also the recipient of the Auckland Top Achiever Scholarship valued at $20,000 and the Otago Academic Excellence Scholarship valued at $40,000. Ekta has a passion for volunteering and has been involved in leadership roles with Amnesty International and UN Youth.

Currently she is an executive member for the Auckland University Surgical Society and has recently published a paper on gender disparities in the leading journal Arthritis & Rheumatology.
